Problems with UPVC window locks
UPVC window locks usually fail in one of two ways; either the fastener won’t turn all the way to engage the mechanism allowing the key to lock, or the window is stuck closed. It could be that the multi-point mechanism has failed. This can be replaced so you have full use of window again. The fastener (window handle) can also become worn and loose, this will require replacement.
If the window won’t fully close then it is likely that the seal is damaged or incorrectly seated. Adjusting the seal may be all that is required but if it is damaged then it will need to be replaced.
